Colorful thanks

I feel very lucky to have a wonderful family, friends, and great neighbours.  With all these wonderful people there are constant reasons to feel gratitude.

Every Spring we play a game of catch-up, trying to keep the weeds down.  This year our neighbour had ordered a heap of compost for his garden and had over a yard left when he was done.  He came over and offered it to us, while we wanted to use it, we were both working and we needed to get the soil moved before garbage day which was a few days away.  My husband did a few hours moving what he could of the load after work, but unfortunately I ended up with an upset stomach and since I wasn't able to help we weren't sure if we could get it done on time.  Well, my Dad heard about our problem and showed up the next day and moved soil for a few hours each day, getting it done before garbage day.

To show our thanks I made this card for our neighbour and we put a little token of thanks inside.

I was inspired by the Paper Smooches Color Story.  To match the colors I used my Copic pens
So many wonderful people to be thankful for in our lives.  Friends, family, and now I'm meeting people "virtually" online. This will be the 3rd online challenge that I am participating in with Paper Smooches, and my what a friendly, talented and encouraging group they have on there! Speaking of Paper Smooches, to make this card I used their "Thanks Word 2" wise dies.  Products like this can be found at http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com

Vibrant Colored Greetings

I made this card for Katelynn's 11th birthday.  It's really amazing watching kids grow and change.  Katelynn is still one of  the sweetest kids, and I love that she has developed a great sense of humour.  Such a colourful personality on that one.  So when the new Paper Smooches challenge came out as a colour challenge I thought it was a great chance to make a fun card to celebrate Katelynn's birthday. First off here were the colours in the challenge.
It was definitely a challenge that helped me extend beyond my usual colour choices.  Great inspiration to try something new! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, what do you think?

I used two Paper Smooches stamp sets to make this card.  The "let's celebrate: sentiment came from their "Metropolis" set and the images to create the scene are from their "promenade" set.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We have never really been into Valentine's Day in a big way. We tend to do dinner and a movie...and when I say "dinner and a movie," I mean eating take-out sushi in bed while watching a DVD that we borrowed from the library.  Yah! We know how to party! Am I right?!

For this post, I made a card for the latest Paper Smooches challenge.  This time the theme is "LOVE". So very fittingly, I am sending love from our home to yours .

To make this card, I used the adorable Paper Smooches Bitty Bungalows Stamp Set which can be located on the Paper Smooches website http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com
